While The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild might have been THE game to pick up on the Switch, there have been a number of smaller titles released exclusively on the e-store which are more than worth the purchase.

Fallout 4

Fallout 4 is on the way!

Since the release of Fallout: New Vegas, Bethesda have always been quiet when it came to the Fallout franchise. Avoiding questions, giving the generic “we cannot comment” answers and so on…

Five years on, and finally that looks to have changed with the announcement of Fallout 4!

Releasing a debut trailer today –  actual in-engine footage and not just a CGI video I might add! – Bethesda have officially got the hype train rolling pre-E3. You can find the video below. Continue reading

Lifeless Planet Review: Lifeless by name, Lifeless by nature

Developer: Stage 2 Studios

Platform: Xbox One, Windows

Originally released in 2014 on Windows, Lifeless Planet was one of the highlights of Microsoft’s E3 Briefing in June 2014 during an ‘Indie Game’ highlight reel. Gripped by the name and concept, I was immediately hyped and swore off looking at any videos or reviews until I could play it myself.

Almost one year later and the game finally got its console debut in May 2015 on the Xbox One. After completing the game in a single sitting, did it live up to my expectations…? Continue reading

Five Nights at Freddy's

Five Nights at Freddy’s Review – Five nights of scary!

Developer: Scott Cawthorn

Platform: Windows, Android, iOS

Released in 2014, and going on to spawn two more sequels, Five Nights at Freddy’s is the brainchild of one man – Scott Cawthorn. It is a unique horror game that has reached unprecedented popularity very quickly, spawning countless clones and theories about the backstory.

I was somewhat late to the party, having only recently played all three games. Regardless of that fact, I have quickly become enthralled by the series and its unique style. This article will be the first in a series of 3, more should Scott develop anymore, looking at the first game in the series.

Mario Kart 8 Update: 200cc Mode!

You may not have heard (though let’s face it, you probably did…) but Mario Kart 8 got an update today. Normally these updates are small patches, fixing a bug here and there, but today’s update was different; Today’s update added a new 200cc mode.

Nintendo finally did it. They made Mario Kart even crazier than it already was.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate – The best MH so far?

Developer: Capcom

Platform: Nintendo 3DS

Monster Hunter has long been a series close to my heart, ever since I discovered the series with Monster Hunter Freedom on the PSP. The series has made its home on a variety of consoles, and now resides on Nintendo’s consoles.

Released in February 2015, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (MH4U) is the newest addition to the franchise and can only be found on the Nintendo 3DS. Since release day, I’ve sank over 200 hours into the game and feel now is the perfect time to write a review. Continue reading

The Crew – An ambitious take on the racing genre

Developer: Ubisoft

Platform: Xbox One (version reviewed), Xbox 360, PS4 & PC

For the gamer in me, most of 2014 was spent yearning for the release of The Crew. I’ve never been one for racing games, however the concept instantly drew me in and ultimately made The Crew my most hyped for game of the year, if not this generation as a whole.

Following delay after delay, The Crew was finally let loose on the world at the start of December 2014, and traversing its enormous world has been an experience like none other so far. Continue reading
